What a portal costs
| Tool | Plan | Annual cost |
|---|---|---|
| GlideGlide's Maker plan (~$25/mo) allows unlimited sign-ins with personal/Gmail-type emails, but private per-user data and work-email login need the per-user Business plan priced here. Glide also meters data 'updates' (5,000/mo included, then $0.02 each), so very write-heavy portals cost more on top. | Business | $12,588/yr |
| Airtable PortalsRead-only guests are free, but the Portals add-on starts at about $120/mo on top of a Team plan, editing guests are paid (around $8 each), and builders need full Team seats ($20/mo). Branding and layout are limited. | Team + Portals add-on | $9,840/yr |
| NolocoClient seats (viewers and editors) are charged per head above the plan allowance. | Pro | $2,988/yr |
| SoftrPriced by the number of external app users (viewers and editors alike); free up to 10, then tiered. | Professional + extra users | $2,868/yr |
| StackerExternal portal users are unlimited from the Plus plan ($199/mo) up; Starter ($39/mo) caps them at 50. Tiers are also bounded by apps, records, and internal seats. | Plus | $2,388/yr |
| miniExtensionsFlat fee, unlimited end users, one portal. Higher tiers ($89/$189) add more portals/extensions. | Basic | $348/yr |
| CollabPortalsFlat fee with unlimited viewers, editors, and builders. No per-seat charge. | Flat | $120/yr |
Annual-billing prices as of June 2026. Each tool name links to its pricing page. We show the cheapest plan that fits the number of users entered; where a tool no longer publishes self-serve pricing at that scale we show "Custom quote". Monthly figures are the annual-billing rate spread over the year, not the higher month-to-month rate.

Why portal pricing varies so much
The tools that put a friendly front end on an Airtable base fall into two camps. Some charge per user or per seat, so the bill grows with every person you add. Others charge a flat fee no matter how many people log in. For a handful of users the difference barely shows. For a few hundred or a few thousand, it is the difference between a coffee a month and a serious line item.
Per-user tools like Glide, Noloco and Softr are excellent when you want a rich app and a smaller, known audience. Flat-fee tools make more sense when you have a large or unpredictable number of viewers, such as applicants, members, students or customers who each need to see only their own records.
What the calculator assumes
Prices are the annual-billing rates published by each tool as of June 2026, and every tool name links to the source so you can confirm them. We always pick the cheapest plan that genuinely fits the number of users you enter, rather than a worst-case tier. Where a tool stops offering self-serve pricing at your scale, we say so instead of inventing a number. Read-only viewers and editing members are counted separately because some tools bill them differently.
Frequently asked questions
How is the cost calculated?
Each tool is priced on its cheapest plan that genuinely fits the number of users you enter, using annual-billing rates as of June 2026. Every tool name links to its own pricing page so you can check the numbers. Where a tool stops publishing self-serve pricing at your scale, we show a custom quote rather than guess.
Why do the totals diverge so much at scale?
Some tools charge per user or per seat, so the cost grows with every person who logs in. Others charge a flat fee no matter how many people use the portal. With a few users the difference is small; with hundreds or thousands it is large.
Why do viewers and editors cost different amounts?
On most tools they do not, per-user plans bill anyone who signs in the same. The exception is Airtable's own Portals: read-only guests are included, but people who edit their own records are billed as paid users on top of a Team plan. That is why a read-only Airtable portal is cheap and a read-and-write one is not.
