Why I built this
I kept hitting the same wall. A small business stores its data in Airtable, then needs to give a customer, a student, or a contractor access to a slice of it. The options were all bad. Pay per seat in Airtable for people who shouldn't see the whole base. Move the data to a custom app. Or wire up something brittle in Stacker or Softr that costs more than the Airtable plan it's sitting on.
CollabPortals is the simple version of that. Connect your base, pick what each role can see, share a link. Flat $10 a month, however many customers log in.

We don't copy your records into our database. The portal reads and writes to your base directly, so there's nothing to sync and nothing to migrate if you ever leave.

Flat price. No per-seat fees, ever.
A portal exists to share data with lots of people. Charging you by the head is the wrong model for the job, so we don't. $10 a month, billed annually. Invite ten portal users or ten thousand; the price never moves.

Granular permissions, or none at all.
Set access per role, down to a single field: hide a column, make it read-only, or make it required. Or skip all that and give everyone the same full view. However tight or loose you want it is your call.

- Can I connect more than one Airtable base?
- Yes. One subscription, unlimited bases and unlimited portals.
- Can my customers edit records?
- Yes, on tables and fields you choose. View, create, edit, delete, all configurable per role.
- Can I hide certain fields from certain users?
- Yes. Per-role, per-field. Hidden, view-only, editable, or editable-and-required.
- Do my customers need an Airtable account?
- No. They sign in with their email and a 6-digit code.
- Will this cost more if I add more users?
- No. Flat $10 a month annual, $12 monthly, however many customers log in.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Right now every portal lives on a collabportals.com link. Custom domains are in development and coming soon.
- Can I add my logo and colours?
- Yes, on every plan. No upsell to a Business tier for branding.
- Can users only see their own records?
- Yes. Records are scoped to the logged-in user via linked records back to your Airtable user table.
- Can I filter what shows on a table?
- Yes. Field, operator, value filters per table, plus default sort.
- Does it work on mobile?
- Yes. Portals are responsive. Customers can use them on any phone browser.
- What happens when I edit a record in Airtable?
- Changes show up in the portal in real time. There is no separate database.
